Fiat what are you doing to us! This is a quick blog/guide to make sure you are buying the correct steel wheel to use as a spare.
We are getting increasing call asking for a spare steel wheel to suit the new Fiat Ducato Motorhome it has been quickly realised that customers are unknowingly buying the wrong steel wheel for their Motorhome and it not their fault, it’s the miss informed salesman or eBay seller. I cannot imagine the amount that will be sold incorrectly and for some will only find this out when it is too late! Having to get your spare out only to find it will not fit. There is now three different spare wheels out their one 15” and two 16”, it is the 16” wheels that are causing the confusion:
15” steel wheel to suit the Light chassis of the Ducato and Boxer comes in PCD 5X118
16” steel wheel to suit the Light chassis of the 2016 onwards Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer Motorhomes comes in PCD 5x118
16” steel wheel to fit the Ducato Maxi and Peugeot Boxer Maxi Motorhomes comes in PCD 5x130 and is still been used on the new Motorhomes also.
To ensure you are getting what you need from the start, please follow these simple steps.
- Check what size wheel you need, you can take a note of the tyre size, for example, 225/75r”16” it is the 16 that indicates the wheels size meaning you have a 16” wheel.
- Checking your stud pattern “PCD” we now need to find out whether you have the 5x118 or 5x130, this very simple pick one of the 5 studs and measure from the centre of this bolt to the centre of the one directly next to it the measurement you will get is either 71mm or 78mm. 71mm = 5x118 and 78mm = 5x130.
- So now you know what you need, you can buy with confidence or if you are still not sure please call us or drop us an email we will be more than happy to help you.
