The Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme is a high performance tyre that is suitable for 4 x 4 and SUV vehicles. The W-shaped tread pattern was designed by Italian stylists Giugiaro and has a striking appearance. The Wintrac 4 Xtreme has excellent on-road properties, but also features a number of important all-terrain characteristics. The tread compound and advanced construction offer great grip on wet roads and superb stability. The Wintrac 4 Xtreme provides a comfortable and quiet ride throughout its life span.

In addition to adding to the looks of the product the W-shaped tread has excellent self cleaning properties, allowing for good driving performance on snowy and unpaved roads. Optimum Silica Processing (OSP) is used in the tread compound, this technology allows for good grip on wet roads and excellent aquaplaning stability.

The Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme has been designed as a winter tyre for the SUV & 4x4 markets. If you are going to be driving on the continent over the winter then this is a superb choice, it is marked up as a mud & snow tyre and performs superbly in wintry conditions. Here at Tyremen we also market this tyre as a UK, all year round 4x4 tyre. We have been selling this product for many years and we have found that are customers find the life span of the Wintrac’s to be vast. It is not uncommon to hear that their Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme’s have done 2 or 3 times the mileage of other leading brand tyres!

Of course the ideal solution would be to use the Wintrac 4 Xtreme during the winter months and then swap onto the SUV Sessanta for the Summer months.

Wintrac 4 Extreme on 2002 RAV4 automatic

I've done about 5k miles on these tyres now including more than 1500 miles in severe (for the UK) snow conditions. The RAV4 was still safe and sure-footed at speeds up to 60mph on these tyres on hard-packed snow, when cars/vans on summer tyres were falling by the wayside Somerset-to-Stornoway & back again. The road holding and control in slushy conditions is very impressive too - money well spent. Other advantages are that they have a much quieter ride than the OE Bridgestone Duellers.
