Vredestein Ultrac Cento Tyres

The new Ultrac Cento, launched in April 2009 see Vredestein once again set new standards in the premium quality tyre market. The Cento's 'less is more' styling philosophy was designed in partnership with Giugiaro, adding aesthetics to the tyres technological attractions. The tyre is -SW marked, meaning that the Ultrac Cento meets the most stringent European noise and wet grip requirements.

Focus on environment
The Vredestein Cento has been 6 years in the making and the tyre has done the equivalent of millions of kilometers in laboratories and field tests. This development stage resulted in Vredestein developing a unique mix of 10 different rubbers that are PCA free and super quiet on the road. The Cento produces a maximum of 71 decibels of noise that already meets the new European standards due to be implemented in 2012.

Low roll resistance and weight
The unique tread compound mixture of the Cento also helps the tyre to have a very low rolling resistance meaning that the tyre helps to improve fuel economy. The tyre is also very lightweight and 20% lighter than the original Ultrac. The tyre contour and groove depth were developed with the aim of reducing rolling resistance. Its shoulders are shallower and thus firmer, which improves performance, decreases rolling resistance and lessens wear.

Consistent wear pattern for a lifespan of comfort
The Cento produces very little heat meaning that the wear is very consistent throughout the tyres life. Furthermore, the wear that occurs in normal use has no negative effects on the noise production of the tyre and a firm construction guarantees that the Ultrac Cento retains its shape at very high speeds. A sturdy rim edge protector ensures that light-metal rims cannot be damaged.

Run Flat
The Cento is also being launched in several key runflat sizes; 225/50R17 (94Y) & 225/45R17 (91Y). The runflat tyre complies with ETRTO standards, presents no driving danger when pressure is lost and has temporary function as a spare tyre.
