Mail order or fully fitted?

When buying from us you will have the option to buy your tyres mail order or fully fitted – but which one to go for?

Buying mail order tyres

Buying mail order allows you to choose your perfect tyre and benefit from maximum discounts. Our wide range of quality tyre brands can be dispatched quickly across the UK and Europe for you to get fitted locally. We can deliver to your home, place of work or directly to your specified tyre fitter and then you just need to pay them for the service provided. The fitting of mail order tyres is now common practice and most garages would have no issue with doing this. You should expect to pay around £15-£20 per tyre for fitting. We would advise using an independent fitter as they will not have any head office rules forced upon them which don’t look fondly on the fitting of customers own tyres. If you do find a friendly independent to fit your tyres why not ask if we can deliver there? Some tyres can be quite big and this will allow you the convenience of not having to wait for a courier at home and then trying to fit your tyres into the boot of your car in order to get them to the garage. We keep our online prices at wholesale levels so even when you have paid for delivery and fitting you should still save considerable amounts in comparison to buying locally.

Fully fitted tyres

In the months ahead we will be offering the ability to buy your tyres as a fully fitted item. You can search our network of fitters to see if there is a conveniently located garage that you would like your tyres to be fitted at. If so then at the checkout you will be able to opt to buy a fully fitted tyre which will then direct you to select your chosen garage and make an appointment for the fitting to take place. The cost of this service is £17.50 per tyre and this includes the cost of getting the tyre to your chosen garage, fitting, new valve, balancing and casing disposal. We add this cost onto your bill and we charge for the tyre and fitting at the time of booking. All you have to do is turn up at the garage at your chosen time and your tyre will be waiting for you, the garage will fit this for you and there is nothing further to pay. This service offers great convenience and means that you can still benefit from our special online prices.

Common questions

Will garages fit tyres that I have bought online?

This is an increasingly common practice, most garages are happy to do this and appreciate that it is better to be able to charge for fitting rather than turn business away. We would however advise calling ahead and ideally use an independent garage as opposed to the large National’s. When it comes to winter tyres we tend to find that our customers do not struggle at all when they try to get winter tyres fitted as most local garages will not stock these and would not be able to get hold of them due to the difficulties of availability in the UK.

What if I need to change my fitting appointment?

Your confirmation e-mail will contain your chosen fitting centre details, please contact them directly if you need to change your appointment.

Can I get additional services at your fitting centres?

Many of our partner garages offer services such as wheel alignment, servicing, brakes and exhausts. If you need any such work then please organise this with the garage directly and pay them for any extras you need.

What if my tyres haven’t arrived at the garage?

We will ensure that your tyres are at your chosen garage in time for your appointment. However we do use a courier network and from time to time things do not work out as planned. If your tyres have not been received then please contact us straight away and we will investigate for you. We would advise that at challenging times of the year such as when your area has received heavy snowfall, we would advise checking with your selected garage to ensure that they have your tyres before you leave home.
